John,
RE:"I didn't make anything of our problem with CC820 mobo until I read Register article today. Usually, one accuses The Register of making up lies. The story appears to be accurate. I would have to say that 820 chipset is half in grave. Poor performance with SDRAM, not all SDRAM works who would want to buy it for ATA66 and AGP4X support only"...

This exactly what I've been saying...who's going to buy a i820 based motherboard? Not me, not anyone I know. Sure the Floppermine wins some benchmarks when you stick it in a board with some RAMBUS...
So my reply to those who stand by that is to go out and find a i820 motherboard and some RAMBUS and we'll compare that to an Athlon motherboard with some good 'ole PC100...then see who's wallet is the lightest...
So now we find out the i820 doesn't work with two sticks of some brands of PC100. Another eason to give the i820 a with berth.
So that puts us back to putting the Floppermine on a BX board.
Not even close...

So Intel has to rush out the Solano chipset. What happens to the i820?
Probably gets cubbyholed somewhere. Remember, i820 boards and only 2 RIMMs slots. Another fopah...
