Thanks, K. Sounds like you are saying every individual transaction needs to be listed separately, which as you point out makes sense because of different tax treatments. I can think of one exception, though: when assigned or you exercise an equity option, I'm sure I read that the premium just adjusts the cost basis of the stock. The opening option transaction just "goes away." I hope that's right because that's how I reported last year! Can you think of any other exception to the List Every Transaction Rule?
