So long as contamination by formaldehyde does not interfere with the reforming process or the membrane.

There is also the effect of a certain Mr. Yule Gibbons who coincidently (in that he graced this planet around the same time as Mr. Swayze), may have consumed large quantities of pine trees that may have interfered with the production of wood alcohol. It was rumored that Mr. Gibbons, being a ravenous individual may have also dined on the occasional feline so his effect on MHTX may be overstated.
