I do none of those things at all. No ornamented tree. No change in my spirit. ( getting into the 'X-Mass spirit' ) I get the days off at work because it is illegal for my employer not to recognize those daze and pay overtime rates. NO family get together except some visitors because I'm home ( not usually my earthly father's family ) I forbid people to give my children gifts between Dec 1 and Jan 15. ( decidedly do not want my children in that bondage ) People think they are "freely observing " just try quitting and see what happens :-} X- Mass is the Highest Roman Popish Ceremony of the year. It is a season where the unsaved ( who seem to have no problem with the event which speaks volumes in itself ) justify themselves before God through their works of righteousness (giving and caring in the flesh). It is what is know as syncretism at it's worse. These were originally pagan winter solstice celebrations which the Roman Catholic System 'adopted' and tried to Christianize. That is a very sinful form of Idolatry! It is much easier to let men keep their idols and just rename them than to call them to repent! Look at the spiritual principles God packed into these verses concerning worshipping The ONE who never changes: Deuteronomy 12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou enquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise. === God warns His people not to be snared into idolatrous worship. === Men serve false Gods with false forms. Men also serve a false image of gOD with true forms Men try to serve the True God with the idolatrous form. What does God seek and desire ? Worship the True God with Prescribed Form. ( Not according to our own inventions and imaginations. John 4:24 God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. Cain tried to serve the True God with the Wrong ( human invented ) Form! Most Christians will admit they do not really believe Jesus was born December 25th but yet they will sing this line: " We know that Christ our saviour was born on X-mass day " Singing lies to God is not pleasing nor worship to Him! Men are convinced in todays world that God cares only about intentions and not form. If that was true God owes Uzzah an apology. 2 Samuel 6:6 And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it. 2 Samuel 6:7 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God. I assure you that Uzzah had all the right intentions... but was struck dead by God's anger. X-mass is idolatry and mens intentions will not curb God's anger toward it. It is the Highest Popish Ceremony encumbered with the works of the flesh to the 99th degree. Those who worship God must worship Him Both in spirit and truth. Singing lies to God is not pleasing to Him! Jesus told us to obey His commands... many places are open on the Christian Sabbath but closed for this abomination. Many men argue against God and His perfect word and then celebrate this work of the flesh to cover their bases. The world talks about a false Jesus for a whole month and then goes back to it's silence about God and many Christians belive this season to be a great opportunity to 'witness'. My question - witness what? Lies about the nature and character of Salvation and God ! How about this one: Peace on earth - Goodwill toward men Luke 2:14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. You will not believe me if I tell you what that verse really teaches. Does it teach "Peace on Earth" and "Goodwill toward all men" Jesus plainly spoke this: Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. Luke 12:51 Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: 2 Verses against 1.... Jesus does say this: John 14:27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Not "world peace or worldly peace" but inner peace in Men of Good will the saved only ! The verse used on X-Mass cards that the ungodly "claim" for themselves is not written to or for them ! Indeed God troubles them: 2 Thessalonians 1:6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; God is sending tribulation on the ungodly indeed they will have no "rest". ( Sabbath Rest in the Eternal ) X-Mass is an Unholy season of lies . If it was really of God do you think the wicked could abide and enjoy it ? Jesus is God's peace to men of Good Will ( elect ) That is what the verse teaches. ( You likely don't believe that - ask a Greek Professor at a University who does not hate God ) Jesus told us to observe His Sabbath once a week. He who broke the sabbath was put to death by God's command. ( Was not Moses' Idea ) Jesus told us to Remember His death ( not birth ) in the Lord's Supper. satan has men looking to the birth and saying that a baby Jesus is the saviour. Did you know that even the "nativity scene " is a lie! The "3" wise men ( supposedly three men ) were never at the barn and did not arrive for a whole year! More of satan's and man's innovations. X-mass is a 'mass' alright a mass of lies and sin! Men say God "looks at the heart"... too bad for Cain and Uzzah they found out different! The heart of man is wicked. We are called to obey not invent human sacrificial systems and works of the flesh. Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings. Matthew 9:13 But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance. Righteousness of the flesh is filthy and damning. If men desire to trust God to judge their hearts they will perish for it is a righteousness of the flesh that will condemn to hell. Jeremiah 17:9 The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? Combine with: Proverbs 16:25 There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. X-Mass is death! Please keep it far from my family Oh Lord for ever.
