No. ATHM is no longer stuck with this absurd exclusivity. The Wall Streeters believe that monopoly status is the only constructive thing going for the company. These people like the FED officials teach that monopoly is bad. So why in hell do they act in effect that it is good? If there is one truth in economics it is that privilege and elitism destroys you, because you are precluded from having to address the ever changing nature of reality. Who believes that excluding something is desirable? It sounds racist. It sounds like we don't want all that talent because it looks different. It sounds like we prefer to be poor. It means that @Home can't be a utility. Owning a network is irrelevant. Ownership causes all the problems. It's the use you want and the challenge is to see what you can do with it. That ball is in ATHM's court now. I believe they will make quite a good return.
