ICAB will take off after QP....Hong Kong markets are hot!..............Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose 254.62 to 16,244.00. HSBC,
the U.K.-based parent of the city's two largest lenders, rose 2.4
percent to HK$105 after the S&P move. Bank of East Asia Ltd.,
Hong Kong's third-largest publicly traded bank, rose 2.6 percent
to HK$21.60. BEA said it would make less provisions in the second
half of the year than it did in the first, the Ming Pao Daily
reported, citing BEA chairman David Li.
''Banking profits will continue to recover in this
environment,'' said Todd Martin, head of Asian banking research
at Warburg Dillon Read.
