Bottom-feed classic case. LE just announced 18% earnings shortfall and fell 30% in one day. (thank God I sold at $61 for nice profit). Now at $43. Bottom-feeders like me will watch to try and catch the climax sell-off then buy at least for initial bounce back. Let me see, LE at $39? Sold.

The point is, the market almost always over-reacts. And selling brings more panic selling. The lemming mentality. Which you can make money off, up or down.

Joe Kernan says "Linux fever continues." YES! Still holding Corel and SFTW. . . and even added to them both on dips yesterday. . . this is a HIGHLY speculative type of play that I feel is too risky to make it an "official" HOME thread play. . .don't want to tempt the newbies. . . .I occasionally play longshots on the side. . .which I call gambling. . .

NOTE: I try to only post calls that are ACCURATE and PRUDENT. . .even when being speculative.

Linux IPO comes out today. . .LNUX, I believe is the symbol. . . it is expected to bring more dough into Linux plays. . . however, I think it will have the opposite effect. . .I think the recent Linux plays have been the rumor. . .and the IPO will be the news. . . so I plan on selling some or all of my Linux plays at the height of their mania today. . . .it is too easy to imagine Linux plays cooling off dramatically tomorrow.

Correction to last post.. . . last year's January effect was primarily Dec. 8 and 9, though signs of it began on Dec 7. . . so for those that research everything I say. . . .don't be alarmed. . . it was a pre-coffee typo.

One more thing on December. . . the big traders will most CERTAINLY be on vacation. . . so there is no way that we will see BIG volume moves. . .however that also sets up volatility plays like we saw the last week of November.
