CTI Appoints David Packer to Its Board; Packer also Appointed Chief
Operating Officer

LAYTON, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 1999--Computerized Thermal Imaging, Inc (CTI--OTC
Symbol COII) announced today that David A. Packer has been appointed to the company's Board of
Directors. Mr. Packer has also been appointed Chief Operating Officer. Mr. Packer is currently President
and Treasurer of Computerized Thermal Imaging, Inc. He retains these positions.

"I am pleased to welcome Mr. Packer to the Board," stated David B. Johnston, Chairman and Chief
Executive Officer. "This appointment will allow the board to take advantage of his depth of understanding
of our business and his strategic vision. This refinement of management responsibilities will also allow
Mr. Secord to assume duties as Vice-Chairman for Strategic Planning in order to provide us with a focus
on more critical issues while Mr. Packer will concentrate on day-to-day operations. This will enable CTI
to continue it's rapid growth."

Mr. Packer joined CTI in May of 1997 after 22 years with TRW. There he worked in a variety of technical
and management positions. Since joining CTI, Mr. Packer has lead CTI's efforts by completing the
research phase on the CTI Breast Cancer detection system, accelerating the clinical trials and has
begun the regulatory approval process with the Food and Drug Administration. CTI's technology uses a
sophisticated heat sensitive camera to record an image of heat produced by breast tissue. This image is
processed by a proprietary computer program that is designed to recognize and differentiate the distinct
heat signatures of malignant and benign breast tumors. The procedure is painless and requires no
exposure to radiation, breast compression or electrical current.

Computerized Thermal Imaging, Inc. is in business to improve the quality of life through the development
and deployment of thermal imaging and associated technologies. More information about CTI can be
