IBM Selects Datatec for Network Deployments; Datatec Will Rely on
e-Deploy for Project Coordination

The Agreement Targets 20,000 - 25,000 Sites/Devices Over the Next 12 Months

FAIRFIELD, N.J., Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Datatec Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: DATC - news) today announced that it has been selected by IBM to provide
deployment for IBM's Network Services offering. This new agreement is the result of a six-month pilot test period between IBM and Datatec Systems, Inc. IBM
and Datatec have entered into an agreement to allow its associates and clients to rely on e-Deploy.com software for the management of all Datatec related network
deployments. In addition, Datatec has made e-Deploy available as an ASP offering to IBM account teams for other engagements, not involving Datatec's services.

The estimated business target would allow Datatec to be engaged in projects that would be in the 20,000 to 25,000 sites/devices range over the next 12 months.

By using Datatec's Rapid Network Deployment Services, IBM plans to supplement its network solutions, helping customers achieve faster rates of return on their
network technology investments. IBM Global Services personnel now will have direct access to Datatec's web-based e-Deploy solution, which provide pricing and
assessment, project planning and design, project coordination, asset management, hardware/software configuration and integration with installation of selected IBM
networking solutions.

The purpose of Datatec's e-Deploy.com is to gather, manage and share all of the design elements and project-related information that comprise any deployment
project. Datatec has incorporated its years of experience and powerful assessment, design and automated configuration tools into an easy to use and well organized
web-based methodology. Datatec's e-Deploy.com web-based system significantly improves the process for customers to rapidly deploy their hardware and
software solutions, while reducing employed resources.

''We have moved from conventional, manual approaches to an Internet-based delivery solution called e-Deploy,'' said Ron Frey, Datatec's Vice President Strategic
Alliances. ''Our process relies on automated systems based on proven methodologies providing mass customized configurations. This flexibility significantly reduces
the barriers to implementing large-scale, complex deployments in short periods of time.''
