Wally: Here is some good news and bad news on Dell. The bad news is that they do not have the new G force graphics card in stock. I am waiting for that one on my unit. Don't worry, there are 660 scheduled for delivery on December 11th. But they have 15,000 units on backlog waiting for this freakin' card!!!!! And there is no way for them to tell me if there is a card for me in this batch. Bottom line: they are shipping late. The good news is that demand is strong.

Wally,

As you know, I've been quite bullish on Dell ever since I bought one of their PCs. ;-)

Seriously, the company has outgrown its peers, is more profitable than its peers and produces absolutely outstanding financial ratios relative to its peers, or almost every other publicly traded company for that matter. (i.e. DSOs, Inventory turns, ROIC, ...)

Yet its stock price has treaded water for the past year.

The II article has done a good job of summarizing the market's concerns while also outlining Michael Dell's strategy for growth.

I don't know when, but once the market realizes that the Dell story is just starting, the stock price will resume its upward march.

I think Tito's (from the AMAT thread) staircase workers must have gone on strike this year. :-)

Hope this helps,
Ian

P.S. Dell has opened up another contract with ATI, so the NVDA non delivery problems with its GeForce card shouldn't affect new orders.
