Yes, they'll make an annual profit of $100B within my lifetime. That's my projection, and I'm sticking with it (for now).

That's a forward PE of 1! :-)

You see, I don't believe that investors buy stocks like YHOO because they wish to "participate in the long term growth of the company" - because such long term growth is unknown, and subject to a great amount of uncertainty and risk.

Well this one does. And I am prepared to let the investment ride the imminent roller coaster ride to which the market will continue to treat it.

while ignoring the risk that these companies will, at some point, be valued using historical valuation methods.

I don't know what you mean by "historical", but I agree that they'll be valued based upon their profits and future ability to increase them. That's not a risk, that's a certainty.
