Consumers don't consume stocks, Skeeter. If you have been doing so, I recommend that you refrain. BTW, do you take yours with ketchup? <VBG>

As for housing prices, again, that is more of an (rather illiquid and long-term) investment than (short-term and transient) consumption. Once you have bought a house, if the major purpose of doing so was to live there, you care little as to whether or not the price of that house fluctuates. In other words, if you have a fixed rate of mortgage interest and a fixed payment schedule, inflation or deflation in the value of your property doesn't influence your monthly budget.
