PUMA

Puma Technology, Inc. develops, markets and supports mobile device
management and synchronization software designed to improve the productivity
of handheld computers, smart phones and other wireless personal
communications platforms. For the fiscal year ended 7/31/99, revenues fell
10% to $20 million. Net loss fell 38% to $1.7 million. Results reflect a reduced
number of customer-funded engineering service projects, offset by the absence
of in-process R&D charges.

Microsoft Plans Other Mobile Alliances

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) - U.S. software group Microsoft (NasdaqNM:MSFT - news) said on Thursday it planned other
mobile phone alliances but its deal with Swedish telecoms equipment maker Ericsson (LMEb.ST) was seen as unique.

''There will be other alliances but they will be different,'' Thomas Koll, vice-president of Microsoft network solutions, told
Reuters, stressing that a mobile Internet partnership would remain unique.

''But we certainly see partnerships with them (Nokia and Motorola),'' he said in reply to a question.

Microsoft and Ericsson said on Wednesday they were forming an alliance to offer and develop Web browsers and e-mail
over mobile phones in a ground-breaking deal seen as having spin-off benefits for the entire wireless industry.

Koll said that Microsoft had high hopes for its Explorer mobile browser, which is designed to empower Internet-enabled
mobile telephones.

''We expect to put it on future phones and we hope to capture a majority of the market,'' he said.
