Bombardier Increases Global Express Completion
Capabilities-Increases Annual Capacity to 46 Aircraft

DECEMBER 21, 1999
MONTREAL, QUEBEC--Bombardier Aerospace today announced it has
reached separate agreements with Marshall of Cambridge Aerospace
Limited (Marshall Aerospace), England, and The Jet Center of Van
Nuys, U.S., to provide interior completions for the ultra
long-range Global Express(R) business jet aircraft.
Under these agreements, Marshall Aerospace and The Jet Center will
design, build and install interior completions under subcontract
to Bombardier. TRACE Aircraft Completion of Biggin Hill, U.K.,
will work closely with Marshall Aerospace to provide design,
engineering and manufacturing expertise.
"We are delighted to welcome these two companies to the Global
Express program and look forward to working together and
delivering quality completions," stated Robert Gillespie,
president, Bombardier Aerospace, Business Aircraft.
"Marshall Aerospace and The Jet Center will complete four aircraft
each next year, with a potential of accepting more if required.
These new additions, together with Bombardier facilities in
Montreal and Tucson, will increase our interior completion
capacity to 46 Global Express aircraft annually and give our
customers more flexibility and choice."
Under the agreements, Bombardier retains overall responsibility
for the design, construction and installation of interiors;
several Bombardier employees will be stationed at both Marshall
Aerospace and The Jet Center to assure top quality standards for
the Global Express. Based in Cambridge, U.K., Marshall Aerospace will work in
collaboration with TRACE Aircraft Completion at London's Biggin
Hill Airport. TRACE has over 35 years experience in the design,
manufacture, installation and certification support of new and
refurbished VIP, airline and special mission interiors.
Marshall Aerospace has over 1.2 million square feet (120,000
sq.-m.) of hangar space that houses a maintenance and modification
operation including a purpose-built trim and interior shop and a
new avionics shop. This is staffed by 75 technical specialists
and 60 wood detail and trim shop personnel, skilled in all aspects
of executive completions. Currently employing in excess of 2,000
personnel including 200 design specialists, Marshall holds both
European JAA and U.S. FAA accreditation.
Marshall Aerospace was also previously selected by Bombardier
Aerospace, in 1998, as a Global Express authorized service facility.
The Jet Center, a GE company, is based in Van Nuys, Calif.,
providing services to the aviation industry for over two decades.
Their facility has a total area of 91,000 square feet (8,454
sq.-m.) with two 40,000-square-foot (3,716 sq.-m.) hangars and a
10,000-square-foot (929 sq.-m.) cabinetry center.
The Bombardier Global Express is the ultimate business jet
providing superior comfort and productivity to world leaders in
the increasingly global environment of the 21st century. It
features the largest cabin of any true corporate aircraft either
flying or planned. Performance highlights include flying eight
passengers and four crew members 6,500 nautical miles (12,038 km)
non-stop, at cruise speeds of Mach .80 and higher, on routes such
as New York-Tokyo, Taipei-Chicago and Sydney-Los Angeles, in about14 hours.
As of Dec. 20, 1999, the first group of Bombardier Global Express
aircraft in corporate service had accumulated some 700 flying
hours, posting a dispatch reliability exceeding 99 per cent.
