Bombardier Increases Global Express Completion Capabilities-Increases Annual Capacity to 46 Aircraft
DECEMBER 21, 1999 MONTREAL, QUEBEC--Bombardier Aerospace today announced it has reached separate agreements with Marshall of Cambridge Aerospace Limited (Marshall Aerospace), England, and The Jet Center of Van Nuys, U.S., to provide interior completions for the ultra long-range Global Express(R) business jet aircraft. Under these agreements, Marshall Aerospace and The Jet Center will design, build and install interior completions under subcontract to Bombardier. TRACE Aircraft Completion of Biggin Hill, U.K., will work closely with Marshall Aerospace to provide design, engineering and manufacturing expertise. "We are delighted to welcome these two companies to the Global Express program and look forward to working together and delivering quality completions," stated Robert Gillespie, president, Bombardier Aerospace, Business Aircraft. "Marshall Aerospace and The Jet Center will complete four aircraft each next year, with a potential of accepting more if required. These new additions, together with Bombardier facilities in Montreal and Tucson, will increase our interior completion capacity to 46 Global Express aircraft annually and give our customers more flexibility and choice." Under the agreements, Bombardier retains overall responsibility for the design, construction and installation of interiors; several Bombardier employees will be stationed at both Marshall Aerospace and The Jet Center to assure top quality standards for the Global Express. Based in Cambridge, U.K., Marshall Aerospace will work in collaboration with TRACE Aircraft Completion at London's Biggin Hill Airport.
