Lizzie - I must apologize for the sarcastic nature of many of my posts - my bitterness over our current mania tends to come out in my writing.

I agree with everything you write in your post. I would say, however, that Amazon has an edge in hiring talented technical people because of it's ever-inflating stock price. Should the stock stall or fall, the talented technical people will depart, as there's plenty of money to be made elsewhere.

As for the "secret sauce" comment on CNBC - with Amazon's record of ever-increasing losses, it's just surprising to hear of someone making such a comment on CNBC when AMZN goes up 20% on an upgrade (as though Amazon's "secret sauce" is the reason for the 20% rise). The comment sounds more like cheerleading, rather than anything substantive.
