Why Schwab's allocation process is unfair. If you starting buying IPOs earlier this year, you could have a lot with modest 1K gains. maybe 30 in all. But of course you would be penalized now for this. If you happened to sign up a month ago and had a number of years with the company, and simply signed on for Retek and LNUX and got them, you would have outperformed on a total basis anyone who did the above. The problem is the ex post facto penalty. Hell, if I would have know this, I never would have put in for Launch or Newgen back in April. They should factor in prior allocations SINCE THE INITIATION of the policy.
