Why Schwab's allocation process is unfair.

If you starting buying IPOs earlier this year, you could have a lot with modest 1K gains. maybe 30 in all. But of course you would be penalized now for this.

If you happened to sign up a month ago and had a number of years with the company, and simply signed on for Retek and LNUX and got them, you would have outperformed on a total basis anyone who did the above.

The problem is the ex post facto penalty. Hell, if I would have know this, I never would have put in for Launch or Newgen back in April. They should factor in prior allocations SINCE THE INITIATION of the policy.

Anyone that got Schwab to answer the phone was lucky. I waited over 1/2 hour on three different occasions and talked with noboby.

Does any one have information on other brokers that handle IPO's ? I can't beleive the service is this bad everywhere. Does anyone ever get any IPO's??? I'm 0 for 3. I recently switched several accounts to Schwab but I am beginning to think I made a mistake. I'm paying higher commissions and still getting bad service.
