Mercury's Magellan softwore accepted by British Airways Mercury Scheduling Systems Inc MRY Shares issued 16,500,000 Dec 8 close $1.20 Thu 9 Dec 99 News Release Mr. Graham Whitmarsh reports British Airways Regional has formally accepted the company's flagship Magellan software system. According to Mercury's president and chief executive officer, Graham Whitmarsh, the functional acceptance by British Airways Regional is a significant milestone for the company. "We are very pleased to have completed the installation and passed acceptance at British Airways Regional," Mr. Whitmarsh said. "This acceptance is the acknowledgement that we have been waiting for -- the system functions as designed and can by used operationally." Mercury's next-generation Magellan product is a real-time decision support system for tracking crew on the day of operations. By providing real-time visibility to solve crew scheduling problems, Magellan significantly reduces an airline's overall operating costs and disruptions. Mr. Whitmarsh went on to say: "Our first Magellan delivery is now complete, and as we focus Mercury's efforts on further deliveries, we are pleased to have completed this milestone as anticipated and to budget. This is a major achievement for a real time mission critical system". British Airways Regional will operate Mercury's integrated suite of crew management systems at its EuroHub, serving Birmingham, Manchester and Glasgow.
