Interesting finding.

If one puts the path and filename of the Outlook Express executable into the Address of Internet Explorer, OE opens. My guess is that an .HTM file could contain the filespec of any mail program and it would work too, if you had that program on your system. You could save the page you're working with and check it with an editor to see if it's doing anything sneaky.

Beyond this, I'm out of ideas.
