I am reading Thomas Cahill's latest book, Desire of the Everlasting Hills, "the world before and after Jesus." He wrote How the Irish Saved Civilization, which I liked a lot. This one is pretty good, but as good as the first, but then, I already know a lot of the stuff he's telling, whereas I knew very little about Christian Ireland.

According to Cahill, Biblical scholars agree that Mark was the first gospel, and Mark doesn't describe the infancy of Jesus. Not sure what the significance of that is, if any.
