Peter, sure...you are quite right, i didn't want to imply that it doesn't make sense to follow up on the estimates. i only thought i'd mention that they are a rather funny WS ritual inasmuch as they require fortune-teller type abilities.
but i agree, the estimates do have an effect on the market. lately the game has been, lower the estimates, then buy the stocks beating the lowered estimates, e.g. HWP.

btw, there's a rumor that a big printer co (HWP, Lexmark?) has problems with it's invoicing system...it basically crashed the moment the Y2K 'compliant' version was switched on. according to the rumor they can't bill anyone or check on what payments have been received, and it may take months to sort out. more and more Y2K related failures are reported, and duly downplayed by those involved.
