***Chechnya*** Let's hope Yeltsin's troops have killed the Chechens who murdered and decapitated the New Zealander and colleagues whose heads were dumped on the roadside.

Let's hope Russia can crush that nasty little place into submission. Shouldn't be too hard unless the USA, Saudi Arabia or somebody gets too involved with misguided support of insurrection.

Let's hope Russia carries on down to Iran which murders people who dare to criticize their religious dogma. Then through Afghanistan too to clean out the terrorist bases there [Bin Laden's]. While they are at it, they might as well invite Pakistan [and India] to surrender their nukes.

Come to think of it, I'd feel no great dismay if they carried on to Iraq and buried Saddam six feet down.

Maybe the USA could save some military funds by paying Russia $100bn to do just that. That would give Russian troops and Russia something useful to do.

The deal would involve not political takeover, but like Japan post WWII, a reconstitution and operation under the aegis of the UN.

It wouldn't be any worse than what's going on now.

Then the oil could flow freely in a deregulated, non-cartelized, anti-monopoly, JJJ Triad enforced free market. Oil prices would drop to $10 a barrel. The New Paradigm could continue happily along into the new millennium.

Not that the USA wants oil to flow freely. JJJ don't take on the oil cartel [despite it doing VAST harm to consumers], which keeps certain industry profits way up. They are only worried about trivial little Microsoft which had not been making the appropriate political payments. Those payments are now flowing and a nice negotiated settlement with the mediator will follow.

Count your oil payments and your MSFT payments and see which is doing real economic harm and which is the cartel which matters.
