Celo Communications Joins the RSA Secured Strategic Partner Program; RSA Security Certifies CeloCom Web as 'RSA Secured Keon Ready'
BEDFORD, Mass., Dec. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Through its continuing efforts to foster interoperability among today's leading e-business and Web-based technologies, RSA Security Inc. (Nasdaq: RSAS - news) today announced that Celo Communications has joined the RSA Secured(TM) strategic partner program. As part of the program, RSA Security has certified the CeloCom Web product as ''RSA Secured Keon Ready,'' letting organizations know that this product is compatible with RSA Security's leading PKI products and technologies.
Today, one challenge for conducting e-commerce is the lack of secure and simple transaction systems. When sensitive information - credit card numbers, company data, etc. - are transmitted through the Internet, there is a risk of interception and forgery. Systems using conventional logins (user name and password) are particularly vulnerable. A solution to these problems is to combine PKI-based user authentication with digital signing through standard SSL. CeloCom Web is designed to secure Internet commerce, by allowing Web browsers to support full-strength encryption to secure incoming and outgoing http traffic for the Web browser. CeloCom Web also allows web designers to supplement Web transactions with digital signatures.
