KIS,

Do you understand what the CPI attempts to measure? Do you understand that the median US family income for tax purposes is less than $50k/year?

Given that, who cares about Jaguar prices other than the few stock option rich? Should their dismay at not being able to afford that BMW Z8 even after buying YHOO calls at just the right moment serve as a compelling argument for the Fed to clamp down on growth in the real economy by raising interest rates? I think not so.

IOW, you are hopelessly out of touch with reality. Unearned wealth at an early age does that to many people.

As for whether rent or home prices should be included in CPI calculation, read my post on that topic in the Ask Michael Burke. It is addressed to Skeeter Bug, who has comparable intelligence levels as you do, so you may find it interesting.
