gerald, there are people who do not know how to flash their BIOS, and a BIOS fix is a poor mans fix.

(I knew you'd say this which is why I posted my message in the first place.)

So are you now claiming that the just released, still expensive Coppermine systems are being bought by Grannies and Joe Six-Packs? I think not. Anyone buying these new machines are either corporate customers or enthusiasts extraordinaire, and both know how to update their BIOS.

And if there's such demand that non-enthusiasts want this chip at its current price, then that's great news for Intel and horrible news for AMD who'll have to start hacking and slashing their prices (and their slim chance at profit) once again to try to hurt Intel (which, after all, is more important to Jerry than turning a profit anyway since he still gets his bonus and limo either way).

Besides, your "it's probably a BIOS fix" argument has been blown out of the water now so it doesn't matter.
