Captain, I like the idea, however keep in mind many people are managing multiple accounts with multiple SS#s. Some are using SS#'s and info of friends, family, children, pets, etc. I had a friend at FSU that is managing 15 accounts in this manner, his motto is something like "it is not about ethics, it is about making money"

Still your system would improve things in that linked accounts would be excluded. It would also be interesting to see what people did with mild IPOs, for example, would you IOI for FogDog knowing that if you got it, no IPOs for you for a month?

I have to admit their idea of giving platinum accounts preference is smart. Those people make tons of money for Etrade. Many people only have Etrade accounts for IPOs and nothing else. I think Etrade is caught between growing accounts at all costs (i.e. accounts that never trade that exist for IPOs only) vs. rewarding customers that make them tons of money, which are the plantinum and/or high balance accounts.
