An personal observation on alerts from E*trade:

- The Smart Alerts from E*trade to my email address have been much more reliable than the Alert In-Box on their web pages.
- Most of the time (around 90% of the time) the Smart Alerts to email arrive earlier than the web alerts by any where from 1 to 20 minutes.
- A number of time they arrive at the email and never arrive on the web alerts.
- The web alerts almost always take between 30 sec to a few minutes to load and sometime don't load at all.
- The Smart Alert to email load instantly every single time without fail.
- The email alert sounds a penetrating sound that can be set to be heard all the way outside the house with a lawn mower or leaf blower running.
- The Smart Alert email doesn't require any clicking, loading, refreshing or updating since it polls constantly for new messages.
- It is not tied to a snail-like cumbersome interface that is infested with a lot of slow loading graphics and other items that must load before you get the red letter envelope on you screen.
- And finally Quicker CONFIRMATIONS on trades especially when knowing the outcome of 1 trade determines whether you make the 2nd trade or not is most valuable.
