From new user "Dotty"...a lot of my problems are that I'm a MAC user who bought a Dell so I could run Q Charts. There happens to be no Windows tutorial on the new Dell so I'm having a very difficult time figuring this all out. Ihave printed out heaps of Help instructions...but somehow I don't find my questions being answered or oh heck whatever...I am going to download the thing again & see what happens.

Glad to have found someone who finds QCharts as valuable as I do. I have used numerous systems and have seen no pure charting/data provider + that even comes close. Their data is by far the most extensive and cleanest around, etc. and I can go on...
But the reason I'm posting is in regards to the major features it lacks. Most importantly screening and custom trading systems with full automation, maybe even a backtester ;)
I feel that quote.com, with a database this extensive and clean, that they must get this product out there. Or partner up with Metastock ('cuz Tradestation is by far the worst most unstable POS I've ever encountered) so that one can utilize the quote.com databank/feed in Metastock to run realtime trading systems and screens (current Meta RT feed eSignal is inadequate as they only store 5 days tick data and have symbol limitations, my ideal model would need 30 days tickdata). At present I am unaware of any add-onn programs that can run over or in conjunction with qcharts that would allow for this.
While I'm aware qcharts can be used with Advanced GET, GET does not allow for any customization or automation. I have my own models and criteria that I look for and thus the canned systems on GET limit what one could do. I have requested this to qcharts support but have not really gotten too much aside from the "we are working on many requests clients have made..." type thing. In my travails to find the one system that does it all, I have found that this does not exist. Should qcharts add the features discussed or partner up with somone to offer it, this, in my opinion would be the closest thing. In addition to my account at preftech (for order entry) which brilliantly is integrated with qcharts, this would be the ideal all in one system for me.
As a new poster on the board, it seems you have some knowledge on the topic. Are you aware of any software out there or even in the works that would be able to incorporate the power of qcharts?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. My opinion, the perfect fit is Metastock w/ qcharts/feed. I continue to send e-mails requesting this. Maybe every user should do the same, and often, u know press the issue, lol.

Anyway, worst case, I'm looking at getting the new Metastock 7.0 (data on demand) to run in addition to qcharts (too valuable even without screening/automation). I guess I'll deal with the 5 days intraday data if I must in using Meta/eSignal...

I guess maybe I will look at Advanced GET w/ qcharts feed
even if its canned screens. Out of curiousity, how do you find GET using qcharts live? Can you run intraday screens on any time compression?
I'm not that familiar with the system aside from using it a few times.

Sorry for being longwinded, just alot of questions on my mind related to this topic. Again, any help from anyone on the board is greatly apreciated. Thanks in advance.
