December 16, 1999 - Appoints Robert J. Lander as Chief Executive Officer

Stackpole Limited announced that Robert J. Lander, President and Chief Operating Officer, has been appointed President and Chief Executive Officer, at the Board of Directors' Meeting held today. He succeeds J. Samuel Parkhill, who will remain as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company.

Mr. Lander joined Stackpole Limited in February 1999 as President and Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining Stackpole, Mr. Lander was Vice President, Magnesium North America & Global Technology Organization of Meredian Technologies, Inc., where he had been employed since 1993.

Mr. Parkhill stated, "Rob's appointment completes the succession plan we initiated almost two years ago. The Board of Directors is very pleased to be able to call on Rob's leadership at this stage of the Company's development. His contributions over the past ten months have established a solid record of achievement, and we are fortunate to be able to count on that leadership to propel Stackpole to new levels of success."
