This issue will not be going away. We should have bought the freakin' canal with an Canal.com IPO. <g> Americans have always, and continue to link 'freedom' with the ability to travel and transport. Why else the preoccupation with cars; with living near highways, airports, train lines, rivers, etc. Prior to cars it was planes, then trains and steamships, and prior to that horses and sailboats. WRT Panama canal- We also have the most powerful navy in the world. We would be wise to keep it that way- Not sure if the left agrees though. <ng>
