We're going to our son's in Seattle from December 21 - January 6. My plan is to watch the ball drop in Times Square three hours early. Is that exciting enough for you? I don't drink (gives me a migraine), so I can't even toast with champagne. I don't like New Year's Eve parties and felt it to be a liberation when we realized we don't actually HAVE to go to one. We have free will!!! We can stay home!!! Maybe I'll go to my son's computer and say Happy New Year to the Darians.

I recently purchased a bottle of '90 Dom to be enjoyed at the Millennium. In a year. As for the Odometer Party ... mine will be a six-pack and a Casull. And a coupla bricks of #6 Pampers. <g>

There is logic and there is emotion. When the two come into conflict, emotion wins every time.

Probably 59 people in the whole country really care that this is technically not the end of the millennium. Maybe 10,000 know this intellectually but could care less. The rest will merely resent anybody who even suggests waiting another whole year to party.
