Is the 8-way proliant fault tolerant? If not, these may be serving entirely different application spaces. Probably should be comparing to Compaq/Tandem's Himalaya line.

Oh ya, very small volume. It is an expensive system from a little company so very few will be sold.

I just thought that it was "cool" that so much design time has gone to AMD based system. It is definitely a non event for AMD's financial.

It is however a bit of good news for AMD since it is clearly a business solution.
