NG in London: IPE Nat Gas Midday: Futures quiet largely firmer ahead of cold By Helen Lancaster, Bridge News London--Dec 10--Trade was again extremely thin on the IPE natural gas futures market Friday morning, with just a sprinkling of deals done at largely firmer prices. Aug climbed by the greatest extent, having traded only 25 lots at 9.75 pence per therm, 0.05p higher on the day. Front month Jan meanwhile, gained 0.03p in trade at 11.47p. George, fascinating post, speculative but fascinating none the less. The good thing about Y2K predictions is that there is a drop dead date for testing them. Imo of more pressing immediate concern, are the ppi #'s. Here's the consensus expectations. biz.yahoo.com Treasury rates are still in an uptrend as reflected by the 50 dma. If the ppi is bad, a 6.5% rate is a gimmie. If not, then we get more Bull till Jan. <g> Unless, of course, Goldfinger brings Odd Job ($50 oil) to the party. <g>
