Knight, I used to think your way also. And it is still true with many of the more closed embedded systems. But I think the rapid change in Internet technologies is making Internet Appliance different from others. Comparing to QNX or other OS, is VxWorks really much better? While the difference is BIG comparing to CE, it is not big enough to differentiate from others RTOS. Tornado brought tool supports to VxWorks, and made it popular in the last few years. Application support will enable VxWorks success for the IA market in the next few years. Maybe I will change my mind later, but this is what I see right now. And don't take me wrong as performance and code size don't matter. They do, but so can many competing RTOS' offer similar benchmarks. Khan
