YES, I've done a day trade, but, 75-90% of my short trades are held for 1-2 weeks or more. My longs are held for 1-5 years. I may get stopped out of positions and that may end up being just a day trade.

By habit, I like to hold for longer than a day because the returns are bigger. I find the fewer times I trade a given stock, the bigger my profits are. Stopping out sometimes just results in covering at the peak. So I like to avoid that too. Averaging up works better in that case, as long as the margin holds up.
