Ram: OT, "I was stunned when I read that 90% of the population in one of the African countries was infected with HIV." Africa, particularly in the southern region, is an unmitigated catastrophe. A writer in the NY Times projects a total break-down of some cultures because of the high infection/death rate from AID's. The survivors are(and going to be) young children and a small population of elderly. A whole broad range of folks in an age from early adult through middle years have been virtually annihilated. They're just not dead....yet. Talk about your dead man walking.... And some parts of Asia ain't all that far behind this same African curve. And the only thing keeping the U.S. out of the same sphere is wealth. What was it someone once said?? If Humankind cannot begin to learn how to control itself and its numbers, then Mother Nature will do it for us? And you just know if it comes to that she's not gonna be particularly gentle about it. Especially since we haven't been very wise in our use of the planet. So it goes... Meanwhile...VLNC looks to be backing and filling.... Hey Mooter...getting ready to buy some X-mas gifts? ;-) John~
