E-Fulfillment Leader ComAlliance Renamed 3PF.COM; New Company Appoints William J. Polich as President and Chief Executive Officer
PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- ComAlliance, Inc., the e-fulfillment subsidiary of Rentrak Corporation (Nasdaq: RENT - news), today announced its new name, 3PF.COM, Inc. The newly named company also announced the appointment of William J. Polich as President and Chief Executive Officer. Most recently, Mr. Polich was President of Baker & Taylor Entertainment, the sales, marketing and distribution subsidiary of Baker & Taylor, Inc., with annual sales of approximately $430 million.
``We chose to rename the company 3PF.COM, Inc. to more accurately reflect the subsidiary's business -- 3rd party fulfillment (3PF), order processing and inventory management services for e-commerce just-in-time fulfillment, ' said Ron Berger, Rentrak's Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. ``We are very pleased to have attracted Bill Polich, an accomplished e-commerce marketing and fulfillment executive, to lead 3PF.COM as it continues to expand its facilities and its customer base,' continued Mr. Berger. ``With his demonstrated record of success, we expect him to provide leadership to this expanding business.'
Mr. Polich held a number of progressively responsible executive positions at Baker & Taylor, including Executive Vice President, Office of the President and Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing at its entertainment subsidiary and Senior Vice President at the parent company. Prior to his affiliation with Baker & Taylor, he was Senior Vice President of Sales at HBO Home Video. Previously, he rose to Regional Vice President of Home Electronics for Pioneer Electronics in a five-year career with them.
In accepting the leadership position at 3PF.COM, Mr. Polich said, ``3PF.COM will strive to be a leader in 3rd party fulfillment for both business-to-business and business-to-consumer fulfillment services. I am particularly excited about intensifying marketing and branding efforts, and strengthening infrastructure to support additional growth.'
Previously, 3PF.COM announced an expansion of its distribution facilities, which more than tripled the warehouse space available from the beginning of 1999. The expansion space was necessary to accommodate a growing list of e-commerce clients and the expanding fulfillment needs of its current clients. The 3PF.COM corporate web site can be accessed on the Web at 3pf.com.
