I wonder if Sterling is licensing the Russian technology or if they hired the Russians. Half of my old company's SQUID group was at one time Russian nationals. Or maybe they're BUYING from the Russians. I am almost sure there is a link because of the Novecon weblink to Sterling.

Anyway back when I was working for a high-freq. passive device manufacturer (yuck) I was looking at alternatives to BeO (those Europeans thought we were poisoning them <gg>). I checked out SiC but it had two strikes against it - price and a dielectric constant of ~40. So it isn't the "wonder substrate" for every application. Our design folks didn't want to have to redesign all their devices <g>. So we settled on - unobtainium, after a brief affair with AlN. Full speed ahead and damn the Europeans <just kidding>.

Looking at MSCC I wonder why they haven't enjoyed the profitability (or at least the stock price surge) of their competitors? Decreased satellite demand? Hmmm..... With as many satellites as we blow up or lose you'd think there'd be a big demand <gg>. It's the insurance companies that don't like that stuff. And egg-on-the-face NASA.
