Ted, <<Seriously did you know that AMD was building a factory in China?>>

China factory is OLD news, so nobody pays much attention.

Addtionally, the factory is small in dollar term (investment roughly @ 25 millions USD) and will serve as testing facility.

The factory is located in Suzhou, East part of China, close to Shanghai.

NOte, it is not a MANUFACTURING factory.

Ted,

But I still want to know why I am not being told about these stray factories! Seriously did you know that AMD was building a factory in China?

It's just an assembly(packaging) factory which is not a big deal when compared to wafer fabs (ex:Dresden). But, it's worth knowing about it. I guess it's built in China to take advantage of abundant cheap labor available in China.

Goutama
