*I see Netro is a big buyer of VARL products.*

VARL is sole source for NTRO. The LMDS Market is HUGE. One reasonable sized order could mean $7MM+ to VARL . . . I expect to see these types of orders in the not too distant future.

*Is there any thing you have to say about Netro and how they play into this market?*

NTRO is getting around 40%+ of the LMDS deals. NTRO is sole source for LU (also sells to Siemens), which of course makes VARL indirectly sole source for LU. Between LU, NTRO, and NN (Stanford Telecom), all of which are VARL sole source contracts, market share comes to 65%+ as best I can tell.

*Netro for example seems to top out at 16 Mbps while I read other announcements about Giga bit transmission.*

NTROs proprietary PMP LMDS product, Airstar, features dynamic bandwidth allocation delivering up to 45Mbps. That is down right fantastic. As these technologies develope into a standard, we will see increasing focus and breakthroughs at higher transmission rates.

*Finally, there is the whole Cisco entry into the FWB market, but from what I read they seem to be focused on MMDS, or slower low frequency spectrum.*

You may recall that I became interested in Sharewave (and their MMDS stuff) recently in that they have signed contracts with VARL. Sharewave in turn sells to CSCO.

*But, this low frequency spectrum seems to be the weak end of potential because it just doesn't have the speed to please.*

Its fine for the home networking front.

*By the way, there are a lot of companies standing ready to provide a great variety of services for entertainment as soon as broadband is ready. People will see value for this speed.*

Tell me about it . . . perhaps you might be interested in investing in a toll taker in that field: CSGS

*Is there a market for VARL in Wireless LAN's?*

See my comments related to CSCO above.
