Dear QS: Scott as, "... a rumored candidate to be Welch's successor," does not thrill me, to but it mildly, as a shareholder of SUNW.

I do not know if this rumor started on this thread, over at Yahoo!, or where, but I can see an announcement that Scott McNealy has been named Walsh's successor as resulting in a decline of SUNW shares that makes the drop of TYC yesterday look tame. I don't know how long and if SUNW 's share price would recover.

For Scott to be named the successor _after_ an announcement that GE was buying out SUNW, now that's a different story. I'd have to think about that one for a while, actually quite a while because I neither hold shares of nor follow GE.
