Are you a shareholder, shorter, a 'save investors from themselves' person? Please clarify your interest and why you continue to issue these distorted messages? d

Hi nickel61,

Thanks for the heads up, but your "stunning revelation" about Barrick's exposure above $600/oz was made public two months ago.

If you are bullish on gold, the prudent approach would be to hold a stable of miners with different characteristics -- juniors and majors, both (reasonably) hedged and unhedged.

Try to find companies with:

Growing reserves
Strong balance sheet
Good management
Geographic diversification
Low extraction cost

On the hedged miners, try to find companies that have adequate reserves and enough annual production capacity to safely carry their commitments. ABX is at the edge of this requirement, but, for now anyway, I believe they can pull it off.

Let me know when you find a 100% fool-proof investment with zero risk and no need for analytical thought.

Take care.
