Can anyone tell me what "the Americas" means please. <Globalstar (San Jose, CA) will launch satellite phone services in the Middle East, Australia, S Africa and Russia between February-May 2000, after launching services in Europe, S Korea, China and the Americas by mid-February 2000, according to Mac Jeffery, spokesperson. >

Gee, Qualcomm was wise to ignore the requests to produce 100s of thousands of handsets over the last 6 months. Maybe better not believe that February date either. This is looking like Iridium's long, slow, no handset rollout with lots of premature advertisements and no sales.

Is Brazil the Americas? What are Americas? North and South Americas? Brazil is supposed to be ready to rumble now and so is Canada next week.

Where is the hard launch on 15 November? Did Bernie buy the dinner or not? If not, why not?

Why doesn't that news report say that service will be launched somewhere sooner than mid February 2000?

This doesn't seem to match the Bernie Schwartz interview of a few posts ago.

Maybe it means that from now until mid February, those areas will be starting service one at a time, with maybe most of them before Xmas. "The Americas" maybe next week. China, first week of January. South Korea, second half of January and Europe first two weeks of February. The the rest of them from mid February on.

Wouldn't it be easier to just say, service will roll out over the following areas sometime between now and May? The rest will be later in 2000 or 2001 or 2002 or 2003 or 2004. Easter Island will be 2005.

Re:"Services to other parts of the world will launch later in 2000 and in early-2001." This must be a part of THE SECRET PLAN that no one has heard until now. The PUBLIC PLAN which did not mention this part has been a clever guise to lull us all into a false sense of security. Pretty soon we will all be be hearing that The year 2002 business plan is and always was no more than the worldwide launch of service in 2002. Anything else you might have heard or anything to the contrary is viscous lies and rumor which of course, were all according to THE SECRET PLAN as well.
