Wally: re: FASB Proposal to Eliminated "Pooling Accounting" for mergers -

This morning's Cnnfn report about SEC Chairman's displeasure with the current high tech IPO frenzy leads me to think that the SEC will be fully supportive of the FASB proposal to eliminate "pooling".

IMHO, the best hope for the those against eliminating pooling, including the high tech community (which has the most to lose), IS AN ACT OF CONGRESS. Politically, the pooling issue presents the same situation as the hot button issue of accounting to stock options - saved in the 1980's by an overwhelming senate vote rejecting FASB's new accounting for options.
