Actually, the main thrust has been to enhance variety by pooling into a common culture: bagels are so popular that shops selling them are ubiquitous; Middle Eastern restaurants have proliferated in urban areas, along with Indian and Thai; movies like "Life is Beautiful" make it to the mall cinemas; kids like my son become fans of Japanese anime (as I type, he is watching a subtitled DragonBall Z); Annapolis, which has about 90,000 people in its "metro area", has three French restaurants, two Greek, one Afghan, an Indian, a Thai.....it takes a common culture to allow for syncretism......

Mince meat and fruit pies. Ever wonder why turnout is so low at your dinner parties?

Well... your cyber kisses are sweet anyway.
