Rashid,
I have been using Datek for over two years and I am really happy with their execution. A marketable order is executed within 60 seconds ($9.99) or its free. I only managed to get two free trades in my time with them.

Rashid, I would highly recommend eDreyfus! I started out with SureTurd after years with a full service broker. I quickly found out that cheap trades cost me tons more when the executions were poor. I then switched to NDB and found them to be much much better. But a few months ago I opened an eDreyfus account to try them out...they offered to pay me $75 cash back each month that I do over 5 trades since I have eSignal. Well, my NDB account is all but gone. I have now moved all but a few long term hold stocks over to eDrefus.

I can honestly say that eDreyfus is extremely quick and I often get price improvements. I have found that I can go from the opening login screen and have a stock order input and previewed in less than 45 seconds and my average fill is less than 15 seconds from the time I click the final submit button. And if I have the order screen preloaded and ready to go I can get a trade input and submitted in less than 15 seconds and often get filled within 10 seconds.

My trades show up represented on Level 2 by NITE and I have found that to be a plus since NITE is such a broad market maker with a large book. Maybe that helps me to get filled so quick.

The commission is a flat $15 for market or listed orders and options are $15 plus $1.75 per contract.

You can find out more at edreyfus.com

Cheers!

Rashid:

Great to see your post. Funny you ask - I was just wondering about you and the executioner system as I was drumming my fingers waiting for an order to go in at Waterhouse. I have accounts there and with Datek - Datek is far better. If its stops you want, don't bother with Waterhouse - they now require that any stop be placed 1 point below the bid, which for the low priced stocks I often trade means you're guaranteed a loss in excess of 10%.

I too am looking to diversify and add another brokerage account. Any one with suggestions? With the news today that its been recommended to the SEC that "day trader" accounts should be subject to a $50K minimum and higher margin requirements, I wonder if many can afford to diversify. Once again, government will protect people from themselves - I'm going to become a Libertarian yet.

A good day - out of DDIM with 60% gain. Bought CICI 3 3/4, EWEB 4. Still in and also in DWSI, POSO, SBAS (greed and fear at work here), IMGN, DATC and ELON. Intended to sell some, but slow connection, thoughts of letting profits run and late pops got to me.

Good weekend all.

Peace and Justice --- Patrick

Rashid,

Welcome back. I really thought you and Mark are one in the same. Last month you showed up at the same time Mark was leaving us. Very strange.

As far as online, I still use Schwab and they are normally very fast. Trades are normally reflected in seconds on LII but you can't use stops (buys or sells) on most stocks I play. The thing I like is I can buy something without any buying power and 3 days later I can sell another stock to pay for it.

I also use Etrade and you know them.

Regards,
bazan
