There's a few shorters on the thread I hang out on.

Do their business, take their profits or losses with a minimum of fuss. Of course, they also go long when they deem it right. But you're right in general, a tendency to short does seem to come with an inflated ego and a need to promote oneself.

Auric did save me a bundle on ASTN, though he could have made his points with a little less character assassination. Shorts keep us sharp and I think the message is to take the good information they offer.

I give Auric credit for calling WORK long at 15 too, but the antics of some short sellers who are actually pretty smart are......well, juvenile at best.

I never understood how someone could have lots of money, be very talented and still need to perform like they are back on their 5th-grade playground. Really undignified for grown-ups. Making more money isn't enough. They have to throw in all the taunting and gloating and lashing out when they are wrong or challenged.

But how else do you explain Donald Trump? The epitome of crass nouveau riche. Maybe he's a role model for some.
