Overseas appeal Another high-flying overseas Net IPO, Argentina-based El Sitio (LCTO: news, msgs) rocketed to 33 5/16, more than doubling its $16 price on its debut. The Web network for Latin America priced its 8.2 million shares above its $13 to $15 range in a deal led by CS First Boston. See IPO Report and Thom Calandra's StockWatch. Satyam (SIFY: news, msgs) gained 19 1/8, or 13 percent, to 165 1/8 after an India newspaper, The Hindustan Times, reported that AOL may be seeking a stake of 30 to 35 percent. Satyam currently has a market capitalization of about $3 billion, noted the paper. Satyam went public October 18 at $18. Merrill Lynch brought the company public. Other Internet IPOs based overseas saw some interest as well. Korea Thrunet (KOREA: news, msgs), a provider of broadband Internet services, saw its shares rise 7.5 percent to 71 earlier in the session. By the close, however, the stock stood at 66 1/16, up 0.3 percent. Lehman Brothers led the mid-November IPO. Radware (RDWR: news, msgs), based in Tel Aviv, gained 7/16 to 50 3/4, after trading as high as 54 1/2 earlier. The developer of Internet products to manage Internet traffic went public on September 29 at $18. Internet Initiative Japan (IIJI: news, msgs), an Internet service provider in Japan, went public at $23 in early August. Shares rose 3 13/16 to 124 13/16. A pan-Asian Internet service provider Pacific Internet (PCNTF: news, msgs) raced higher by 14 7/16, or 31 percent, to 61 7/16. China.com (CHINA: news, msgs) gained 17, or 12 percent, to 154.
