Paul, once again you turn a banana into a grapefruit with your logic. I said what I said nothing more nothing less. It seems from the people I have talked to that Athlons are doing very well. You seem to have a genetic need to build up Intel by destroying everything else. Isn't 90% market share good enough? Why don't you leave some crumbs graciously on the table for the little guys. I think your attitude precisely states why so many people hate Intel.

Paul, <<With Compaq the only major OEM selling these AthWIPES at retail (IBM has been pulling out of all retail activities), you are telling me that the ATHWIPES are OUTSELLING all the Pentium III's!

Thanks for the humor !>>

At the local Fry's, I saw five Athlon systems on display -- IBM, Compaq and a house brand -- and only one HP Coppermine system. The latter featured pathetic 8M integrated graphics memory, not a good selling point for a $2,500 machine.

OTOH, there were three PIII-500 coppermine notebooks at $3,XXX.
