The ASP business model seems to be more of a threat than an opportunity for CGI. Why should the major ERP providers like BAAN, Oracle, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft or SAP (the stock of most have suffered of late) leave money on the table by not, themselves, making their software available to their clients directly? Why use a middleman? I understand that Oracle is mulling such a plan!

It may be a model for smaller software providers. But for the big guys?
