No! I disagree with you about the rugs! While it is true that the very rug you are coveting has already been made, those rugs as a group are still being marketed. And so consumers have an enormous amount of powers. If it suddenly happened that everyone was disgusted by them, entrepreneurs would quickly discover ways to make them without any child labor at all. Ancient architectural wonders and paintings in museums, on the other hand, have no current market and their value is not affected by whether slave labor was used.

If you cannot understand how it would be disturbing to realize that a small child had a permanently damaged and twitching arm because of the labor he put into the rug, then I cannot explain it to you. Perhaps there are two distinct groups of people on earth, those who would and would not be bothered by such a thing. I am very happy that all the people I actually know and love would be greatly disturbed by this. Perhaps this is exactly what divides the two groups of posters at Feelings, as well.

I don't feel really comfortable saying exactly where I live, Michael, because there are some real crazies who read threads like this and perhaps I have annoyed some of them in the past. But I live sort of high in the sky with the moon shining brightly just above me, surrounded by pine and eucalyptus trees and quiet.
